(AYNAM ROAD, KENDAL)

(TEMPORARY 20MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable flood defence works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 20 miles per hour along that section of Aynam Road, Kendal, from its junction with Bridge Street, extending in a south easterly then south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 730 metres.

No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 21st September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 9 months and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
