(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order made by North Northamptonshire Council on 5th March 2026 and which came into effect on 9th March 2026 has been extended until the works to which it relates have been completed or until midnight on 8th March 2028 whichever is sooner by the Secretary of State for Transport. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said footpaths is unaffected.
REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for health and safety due to the scale of the works that need to be carried out to ensure that the embankment is stable and the footpaths are safe.

(Lengths of footpaths to be closed)
The route to be closed starts on Public Footpath GG17 (part) in the parish of Cransley at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 485096/278575, at its junction with Public Footpath GG14. It then runs in a generally south-easterly direction crossing into the parish of Kettering to Public Footpath VD34 for approximately 101 metres to Point B at NGR SP 485181/278526. The route proceeds north-easterly for approximately 435 metres to Point C at (NGR) SP 485498/278665. The route of Public Footpath VD46 to be closed from Point B (NGR) 485181/278526 heads south for approximately 395 metres to Point D (NGR) 485244/278189 to Public Footpath VD30. The routes to be closed is shown by a solid black line on the map between points A-B-C and points B-D. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There are no suitable alternative routes.
