Caldwell Terrace Back High Felling - Temporarily Prohibit Vehicles
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (CALDWELL TERRACE BACK HIGH FELLING) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
i) Coldwell Terrace Back - from its junction with Victoria Avenue to its junction with Brettanby Road,
ii) Victoria Terrace - from its junction with Caldwell Terrace in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 26.4 metres,
iii) Brettanby Road - from its junction with Caldwell Terrace in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 27.8 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate cleaning and repair works to a sewer. The Order will come into force on 21 September 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months, however the works are expected to be completed by the 22 September 2026. During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above roads until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
