This prohibition is necessary for water connection works and will be operational in phases from Monday 14th September 2026 to Friday 18th September 2026 inclusive.

The restriction will apply from 0730 hours to 2300 hours on Monday 14th September 2026, and daily between 1900 hours and 2300 hours from Tuesday 15th September 2026 to Friday 18th September 2026.

Temporary Traffic Restriction Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibitthe use by traffic over an area of highway being Market Street Falmouth for its entire length.

Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily suspend the existing one-way order The County of Cornwall (Falmouth) (Restrictions on Driving) (Consolidation) Order 1991 Market Street/Church Street/Arwenack Street (Class Ill) between its junctions with Killigrew Street and Swan pool Street for their entire lengths.

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out works to remove a tower crane.

The Order will come into operation on 28th September 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 3rd October 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1900 and 0700 on a daily basis, weekdays only.

Nothing in Paragraph 1 of this Order will apply to emergency services, cyclists, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. Pedestrian and Vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
