THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY
(MANCHESTER ROAD, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-
1. Manchester Road, Bury – from Knowsley Street to Parkhills Road (works anticipated, 07/09/2026 – 15/09/2026)
2. Manchester Road, Bury – from Richmond Street to Gigg Lane (works anticipated, 16/09/2026 – 24/09/2026)
3. Manchester Road, Bury – from Radcliffe Road to Redvales Road (works anticipated, 25/09/2026 – 02/10/2026)
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.
The alternate routes will be:
1 & 2. Via Jubilee Way, Bolton Road, Ainsworth Road, Water Street, Spring Lane, Cross Street, Dumers Lane, Manchester Road & vice versa
3. Via above or, Radcliffe Road, Spring Lane, Cross Street, Dumers Lane, Manchester Road & vice versa
The Order comes into operation on 07/09/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 4 weeks, each phase of works scheduled Mon - Fri (19:00 – 06:00hrs).

(WESTMINSTER AVENUE, WHITEFIELD) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-
Westminster Avenue, Whitefield – between Stirling Grove & Furness Avenue
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate Electricity Northwest works.
The alternate route will be via Furness Avenue, Coniston Avenue & Dudley Avenue.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 22/09/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week.

(PINE STREET, RADCLIFFE) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-
Pine Street, Radcliffe – from a point 37m east of its junction with Bury Road to its cul-de-sac end/Jones Street
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate the installation of telecommunication equipment.
There is no alternative route.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 22/09/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is up to 4 weeks.
