(20 MPH AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 82, 83, 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, proposes to make an Order to introduce a 20 miles per hour and 30 miles per hour speed limit on those lengths of road described in the Schedule to this notice.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 or 30 miles per hour on the roads as specified in the Schedule to the draft Order and as detailed in the schedule to this Notice.

A COPY of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the exact lengths of roads to which it relates and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected on the Council’s website at www.westnorthants.gov.uk (search traffic regulation orders) and may also be inspected at Kier Highways, Brixworth Depot, Harborough Road, Brixworth, Northants, NN6 9BX at a time and date specified by appointment only by calling 01604 529700.

MAKING REPRESENTATIONS OR OBJECTIONS Any person wishing to object to, support, or make representations regarding the proposed Order must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, quoting reference number P2196 to: Traffic Orders Section, Kier Highways, Brixworth Depot, Old Harborough Road, Brixworth, NN6 9BX or by email to: WNCParkingenquiries@kier.co.uk All representations must be received no later than 24th September 2026.
