LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICES

Roger Mann, Head of Law (Planning & Regulatory), City Law & Governance, Legal Services, Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool, L3 1AH. Dated 3 September 2026. (Walton Breck Road & Oakfield Road Area) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, One-Way Traffic & 20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Order, 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Council intends to make the above-mentioned Order under Section 14 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984: -

Phase 1:
1. To prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along: - Back Rockfield Road, L4, from its junctions with Gilman Street/ Alroy Road to its junction with Blessington Road; 

(b) Pulford Street, L4, from its junction with Back Rockfield Road to its junction with Walton Breck Road; &

2. To prohibit any vehicle from travelling in any direction other than southerly along Gilman Street, L4, from its junction with Alroy Road to its junction with Walton Breck Road;

Phases 2 & 5:
3. To prohibit any vehicle from travelling in any direction other than south-easterly along Walton Breck Road/ Oakfield Road, L4, from the junction with Sleepers Hill to the junction with Houlding Street;

4. To prohibit any vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 20 m.p.h. along Walton Breck Road/Oakfield Road, L4, from the junction with Sleepers Hill to the junction with Houlding Street; &

5. To prohibit any vehicle from exiting or entering: - Venmore Street, Hartnup Street or Donaldson Street, L4, from their respective junctions with Walton Breck Road, L4.

Phases 3 & 4:
6. To prohibit any vehicle from travelling in any direction other than: - (a) north-westerly along Walton Breck Road, L4, from its junction with Venmore Street to its junction with Sleepers Hill/Robson Street; & (b) south-easterly along Walton Breck Road/Oakfield Road, L4, from the junction of Sleepers Hill to the junction Houlding Street;

7. To prohibit any vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 20 m.p.h. along Walton Breck Road, L4, from its junction with Venmore Street to the junction with Sleepers Hill/Robson Street; &

8. To prohibit any vehicle from exiting or entering: - Burnand Street, Venmore Street, Hartnup Street or Donaldson Street, L4, from their respective junctions with Walton Breck Road, L4.

Phase 6:
9. To prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Walton Breck Road, L4, from the junction with Sleepers Hill/ Robson Street to the junction with Arkles Road/Kemp Street.

General:
10. This Order will be operative from the 21 September 2026 for a period not exceeding 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earliest. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by the 11 March 2027, is required to safely enable Liverpool City Council contractors to undertake essential highways upgrade works.

11. A signed diversion will be erected for the duration of the closures.
