What is happening?

LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICES

(Goodison Park Football Stadium Area) (Various Roads) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Prohibition of Waiting/Loading & Unloading) Order, 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Council intends to make the above-mentioned Order under Section 14 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, so as to: -

1. To prohibit any vehicle from proceeding on: - Goodison Road, from its junction with Spellow Lane to its junction with Gwladys Street; City Road, from its junction with Gwladys Street to its junction with Leta Street; & Gwladys Street, from its junction with Goodison Road to its junction with Bullens Road.

2. To prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time or waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading at any time, on: - Goodison Road, from its junction with Spellow Lane to its junction with Gwladys Street; City Road, from its junction with Gwladys Street to its junction with Leta Street; & Gwladys Street, from its junction with Goodison Road to its junction with Bullens Road.

3. To prohibit any vehicle from proceeding on: - Walton Lane, from its junction with Langton Street to its junction with Priory Road; & Spellow Lane, from its junction with Goodison Road to its junction with Walton Lane, for periods of time up to 25 minutes.

4. This Order will be operational (in part or in full as required) for periods of time as determined necessary prior to, during and after an event being held at Everton Stadium (Goodison Park), from the 19 September 2026 until the 30 June 2027.

5. Signed diversions will be erected for the duration of the closures.

6. If a vehicle is left at any time in contravention of a provision of Article 2 of this Order a penalty charge shall be payable.

7. In the case of a vehicle in respect of which a penalty charge is payable, a penalty charge notice showing the information required by The Traffic Management Act 2004 may then be issued by a civil enforcement officer in accordance with the requirements of that Act and any Statutory Instruments made by the Secretary of State there under.

8. Any person who contravenes Articles 1 and 3 of this Order, or who uses a vehicle, or causes or permits a vehicle to be used in contravention of Articles 1 and 3 of this Order, shall be guilty of an offence.
