PROHIBITION OF WAITING ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made an Order on 4th September 2026 under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
The Order which will come into effect on 6th September 2026, has the effect of prohibiting any vehicle waiting along various lengths of road in Cowpen Lane industrial estate at any time. The sealed Order, together with a map showing the affected roads, may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders).
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 4th September 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
