What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Roebuck Street, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Road Closure and One-Way Suspension) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Roebuck Street, West Bromwich which will be closed between from the junction of Barlow Drive (southern side) for 30 metres in a southerly direction (access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Roebuck Lane, Birmingham Road and vice versa. The order intends to temporarily suspend the existing one-way operation of Roebuck Street between the junctions of Birmingham Road and Allen Drive (northern side) and temporary two-way operation will be introduced for the duration of the Roebuck Street closure. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 16/09/2026 effective from 14/09/2026 (19:00-06:00 each evening/ morning). Purpose – To facilitate access for maintenance and repair work to a telecommunications pole by Cleraview Services Group.

intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Hickmans Avenue, Cradley Heath which will be closed from the dividing line of property numbers 6/8 to the gable end of property number 18 (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will not be required (cul-de-sac). The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 16/09/2026 (15:30) effective from 16/09/2026 (09:00). Purpose – To facilitate access for a telecommunication repair by MJ Quinn.
