Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

A255 Queens Road, Broadstairs, CT10 1PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 Queens Road, Broadstairs, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 18 flat 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Queens Road, A255 High Street, A255 The Broadway, A255 St Peters Road, A255 Broadstairs Road, Fairfield Road, Bromstone Road, A255 Ramsgate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



A255 Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, CT10 2DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, on or after 23rd September 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 79, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Ramsgate Road, Bromstone Road, Fairfield Road, A255 Broadstairs Road, A255 St Peters Road, A255 The Broadway, A255 High Street, A255 Queens Road, A255 Ramsgate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Alland Grange Lane, Minster (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alland Grange Lane, Minster, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Alland Grange Lane, B2190 Spitfire Way, B2050 Manston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Alma Place & King Street, Ramsgate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alma Place & King Street, Ramsgate, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Alma Place will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

King Street will be closed outside number 115, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via King Street, Plains of Waterloo, B2054 Wellington Crescent, B2054 Victoria Parade, B2054 Victoria Road, and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Chilton Lane, Downs Road & Pegwell Road, Ramsgate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chilton Lane, Downs Road & Pegwell Road, Ramsgate, on or after 21st September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Chilton Lane will be closed at the junctions of Downs Road and Pegwell Road.

Pegwell Road will be closed at the junctions of Downs Road and Chilton Lane.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chilton Lane, Saxon Road, B2054 London Road, Pegwell Road and vice versa.

Downs Road will be closed at the junctions of Chilton Lane and Pegwell Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Downs Road, Minster Road, St Mildreds Avenue, Pegwell Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crescent Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crescent Road, Ramsgate, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 90, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crescent Road, Vale Road, Grange Road, South Eastern Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Greenhill Gardens, Ramsgate, CT12 4EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Greenhill Gardens, Ramsgate, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 15, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Greenhill Gardens, Fairfield Road, Tothill Street, Monkton Road, Freemans Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Harbour Street, Broadstairs, CT10 1NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harbour Street, Broadstairs, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from York Gate House to The Boathouse, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



High Street, Manston, CT12 5BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Manston, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 40, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Northdown Road, Margate, CT9 2NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northdown Road, Margate, on or after 21st September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 78 and outside number 191, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Road, B2055 Zion Place, B2051 Cliff Terrace, B2051 Ethelbert Terrace, B2051 Ethelbert Crescent, B2051 Queens Parade, B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Devonshire Gardens, Northdown Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Plumstone Road, Acol, CT7 0JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plumstone Road, Acol, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Olivia House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plumstone Road, The Street, Acol Hill, Crispe Road, Seamark Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Rodney Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rodney Street, Ramsgate, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 18 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of West Cliff Road to outside number 22, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Cliff Road, Royal Road, B2054 Paragon, Addington Street, Rodney Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sussex Gardens, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sussex Gardens, Westgate On Sea, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite 5 Sea Tower North, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Mildreds Gardens, Beach Road, Westgate Bay Avenue, Sussex Gardens and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Thanet Road, Victoria Road & Addington Road, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & NO LEFT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thanet Road, Victoria Road & Addington Road, Margate, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions are planned to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Thanet Road will be closed at the junction of Victoria Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Victoria Road, A255 St Peters Road, Addiscombe Road and Park Crescent Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Victoria Road, Dane Road, Park Road, Park Crescent Road, Addiscombe Road, A255 St Peters Road and Victoria Road.

Victoria Road will be closed outside number 1 Edith Court.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Victoria Road, Dane Road, Addington Street Addington Road and vice versa.

Addington Road will have a suspension of left turn imposed turning left onto Victoria Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Thanet (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING & 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Thanet, as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 21st September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.

B2050 Manston Road, Manston

The road will be closed between the junctions of Manston Court Road and The Meadows.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of Manston Court Road and The Meadows.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Manston Court Road and The Meadows.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, B2190 Minster Road, B2190 Un-Named Road From Minster Road To Columbus Avenue, B2190 Spitfire Way, Manston Road East and vice versa.

Cottington Road, Ramsgate

The road will be closed between the junctions of Grinsell Hill and Foads Lane.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of Grinsell Hill and Foads Lane.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Grinsell Hill and Foads Lane.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grinsell Hill, The Lanes, Foxborough Lane, Tothill Street, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, Sandwich Road, Cliffs End Road, Foads Lane and vice versa.

Plains of Waterloo, Ramsgate

The road will be closed between the junctions of King Street and Bellevue Road.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of King Street and Bellevue Road.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of King Street and Bellevue Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bellevue Road, Artillery Road, King Street and vice versa.

Seafield Road, Broadstairs

The road will be closed between the junctions of Gladstone Road and Swinbourne Avenue.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of Gladstone Road and Swinbourne Avenue.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Gladstone Road and Swinbourne Avenue.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gladstone Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Swinburne Avenue and vice versa.

Luton Avenue, Broadstairs

The road will be closed between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and The Vale.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and The Vale.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and The Vale.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Ramsgate Road, Gladstone Road, Seafield Road and vice versa.

Brassey Avenue, Broadstairs

The road will be closed between the junctions of Rosemary Avenue and Salisbury Avenue.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed between the junctions of Rosemary Avenue and Salisbury Avenue.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Rosemary Avenue and Salisbury Avenue.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Salisbury Avenue, Bay View Road, Dumpton Park Drive, West Cliff Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Rosemary Avenue and vice versa.

Watchester Lane, Minster

The road will be closed the entire length.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed the entire length.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed the entire length

Sheriffs Court Lane, Minster

The road will be closed the entire length.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed the entire length.
