Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A20 King Street, Maidstone, ME14 1HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow flow meter readings to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 King Street, Maidstone, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Albion Place to property number 100, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion 1 - Queen Anne Road, Brooks Place and Albion Place.

Diversion 2 - Albion Place, Brooks Place, Queen Anne Road, Marsham Street and Church Street, King Street.



B2010 Lower Road, East Farleigh, ME15 0JE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gully cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2010 Lower Road, East Farleigh, on or after 24th September 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Stone Cottages to The Old Vicarage, between the hours of 22:00 and 02:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road and vice versa.



B2162 Hampstead Lane, Yalding, ME18 6HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow level crossing tamping works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2162 Hampstead Lane, Yalding, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20 metres either side of Hampstead Lane level crossing, between the hours of 23:00 and 04:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2162 Hampstead Lane, Lees Road, Gravelly Ways, Beltring Road, A228 Branbridges Road, A228 Whetsted Road Roundabout, A228 Branbridges Road, A228 Branbridges Ind Est Roundabout, A228 Hale Street By Pass, A228 Maidstone Road Roundabout, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane and vice versa.



B2163 Heath Road, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Heath Road, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Hubbards Lane to the junction with Wierton Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 07:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, B2163 Heath Road and vice versa.



Church Road, Harrietsham, ME17 1AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water utility maintenance and repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Harrietsham, on or after 23rd September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 5 Pilgrims Lakes, along Church Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stede Hill, Hogbarn Lane, Ringlestone Road, Hollingbourne Hill, Upper Street, Eyhorne Street, A20 Ashford Road, Church Road and vice versa.



Emmet Hill Lane, Laddingford, ME18 6BG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Emmet Hill Lane, Laddingford, on or after 24th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 15 metres North of Brickfield Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Emmet Hill Lane, Claygate Road, Jarmons Lane, B2162 Benover Road, Emmet Hill Lane and vice versa.



Gravelly Bottom Road, Kingswood, ME17 3NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Gravelly Bottom Road, Kingswood, on or after 24th September 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Ashdown. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gravelly Bottom Road, Pitt Road, Chartway Street, Gravelly Bottom Road and vice versa.



Lindridge Lane, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lindridge Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 20 metres West of property named Redlands. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lindridge Lane, Marden Road, Clapper Lane and vice versa.



Lughorse Lane, Yalding, ME15 0QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lughorse Lane, Yalding, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Street, Vicarage Road, B2010 Yalding Hill and vice versa.



Mynn Crescent, Bearsted, ME14 4AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow vital network works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mynn Crescent, Bearsted, on or after 21st September 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 7. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mynn Crescent, Birling Avenue and vice versa.



Sheephurst Lane, Marden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sheephurst Lane, Marden, on or after 24th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 400 metres West of Sheephurst Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sheephurst Lane, B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 West End, B2079 Church Green, B2079 High Street, B2079 Maidstone Road, Underlyn Lane, Green Lane, B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Claygate, Sheephurst Lane and vice versa.



Spenny Lane, Collier Street (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spenny Lane, Collier Street, on or after 24th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 70 metres of property named The Conifers. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Claygate Road, Jarmons Lane, B2162 Collier Street, Kings Lane, Spenny Lane and vice versa.



The Hoseway, Maidstone, ME15 6HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow flow meter reading works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Hoseway, Maidstone, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A229 Mill Street/A229 College Road, between the hours of 18:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Wharf Road, Tovil, ME15 6RB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & NO WAITING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and impose no waiting on part of Wharf Road, Tovil, on or after 21st September 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed and no waiting imposed in the vicinity of the junction with Beaconsfield Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beaconsfield Road, Church Road, Lower Tovil, Wharf Road and vice versa.
