What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Tatworth and Forton Temporary Closure of Chilson Common

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Chilson Common - from the junction with Fosse Way, eastwards for a total distance of 87 metres. This Order will enable Circet UK Ltd to lay duct on behalf of Openreach.

The Order becomes effective on 16th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 22nd September 2026 and last until 24th September 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days. There is no alternative route for this closure.
