What is happening?

CITY OF WESTMINSTER GROVE END ROAD THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (C ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order, in connection with the installation of a pedestrian “zebra” crossing and associated zig-zag markings outside St. John & St. Elizabeth Hospital, Grove End Road, would be to:

(a) introduce a taxi rank (no stopping “at any time”, except taxis) on the north-west side of Grove End Road, outside No. 47, replacing 5 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions;

(b) relocate the ambulance bay on the south-east side of Grove End Road, outside St. John & St. Elizabeth Hospital, north-eastward by 11 metres;

(c) shorten the residents’ parking place on the southeast side of Grove End Road, outside St. John & St. Elizabeth Hospital, by 16.5 metres at its north-eastern end;

(d) remove the residents’ parking place (9.8 metres) on the north-west side of Grove End Road, outside St. John’s Wood Synagogue, Nos. 37 to 41;

(e) shorten the pay-by-phone parking place on the north-west side of Grove End Road, outside St. John’s Wood Synagogue, Nos. 37 to 41, by 3.4 metres at its north-eastern end; and

(f) introduce 3.4 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on the north-west side of Grove End Road, outside St. John’s Wood Synagogue, Nos. 37 to 41.

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to install a pedestrian “zebra” crossing and associated zig-zag markings in Grove End Road, outside St. John & St. Elizabeth Hospital.

4. The proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at https:// westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). Any objections or other representations about the proposals should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, WSP Traffic Order Team, 3rd Floor, Westferry House, 11 Westferry Circus, London, E14 4HD, or by email to tmo.westminster@wsp. com quoting reference 8263/LH, by 23rd September 2026. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
