What is happening?
Somerset Council Parish of Merriott Temporary Closure of Eggwood Hill
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Eggwood Hill - from 110 metres north-west of the junction with Merriott Road, north-westwards for a total distance of 192 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out works to renew a stop tap.
The Order becomes effective on 16th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 22nd September 2026 and last until 24th September 2026 between the hours of 09:30 - 15:00 for a total of 3 days.
