Stockport - Multiple Road Traffic Notices

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT 

(HEATHFIELD AVENUE AND VARIOUS ROADS, STOCKPORT) 
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (SUSPENSION OF LEFT TURN) (SUSPENSION OF LIMITED WAITING) NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Heathfield Avenue at the junction of Wellington Road North, Abney Road at the junction of Wellington Road North, Cambridge Road at the junction of Wellington Road North. 

Holly Road at the junction of Wellington Road North. Claremont Avenue at the junction of Wellington Road North. School Lane at the junction of Wellington Road North. 

Heaton Moor Road at the junction of Wellington Road North. Suspension of a Left Turn at Wellington Road at its junction with Heaton Moor Road. School Lane at its junction with Wellington Road North. Heaton Moor Road at its junction with Wellington Road North. 

Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Suspension of Limited Waiting at School Lane, Heaton Chapel - Suspension of Limited Waiting on the northwest from approximately 28 metres northwest of the junction of Wellington Road North to approximately 32 metres southwest of the junction of Manchester Road. 

School Lane, Heaton Chapel - Suspension of Limited Waiting on the southeast from approximately 10 metres southwest of the junction of Manchester Road to approximately 50 metres northwest of the junction of Wellington Road North, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads.

Suspension of Limited Waiting Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 5.00pm 2 hours and No return within 1 hour at School Lane, Heaton Chapel - Suspension of Limited Waiting on the northwest from approximately 28 metres northwest of the junction of Wellington Road North to approx. 32m southwest of the junction of Manchester Road. 

School Lane, Heaton Chapel - Suspension of Limited Waiting on the southeast from approximately 10 metres southwest of the junction of Manchester Road to approximately 50 metres northwest of the junction of Wellington Road North, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary to allow for highway improvement works and diversions to take place. It is estimated these works will last 19 weeks. 

Diversions will be provided via; Heathfield Avenue, Egerton Road North (one way), Heaton Moor Road, Wellington Road North. Abney Road, School Lane, Wellington Road North. Cambridge Road, Manchester Road, School Lane, Wellington Road North. Holly Road, Manchester Road, School Lane, Wellington Road North. Claremont Avenue, Egerton Road North (one way), Heaton Moor Road, Wellington Road North. 

This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. 

This Notice also does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on 10 September 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
