ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC COMMON LANE, WELTON (PART), COMMON LANE CROSSING, WELTON AND COMMON LANE SOUTH, WELTON (PART)
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding along Common Lane, Welton (approximately ten metres north-northeast of Common Lane Crossing, Welton to Common Lane Crossing, Welton), Common Lane Crossing, Welton (whole extent), Common Lane South, Welton (from Common Lane Crossing for approximately 15 metres South-Southwest) commencing Thursday 10 September 2026 to allow access for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Saturday 1 April 2028. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Blenheim Avenue, Ings Bridge Roundabout, Moor Road, Moor Road Roundabout, Moor Road, Welton Road, Water Lane Roundabout, Welton Road, Brough, Water Lane Roundabout, Water Lane, Elloughton, Stanley Jackson Way and Common Lane, Welton.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all motor vehicles but remain open at all times to pedestrians, cyslists and horse riders.
