What is happening?
(LUTTON – MARRIOTS GATE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) AMENDMENT ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lincolnshire County Council propose to make an Order under their powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting as set out in the Schedule below:
• Introduce Mandatory School Keep Clears Mon-Fri 8-9.30am & 2.30-4pm outside the entrances to the school
• Introduce No Waiting at Any Time at the junctions of St Nicholas Way, Puddingpoke Lane, Old Vicarage Lane and along Marriots Gate.
• Introduce No Waiting Mon-Fri 8-9.30am & 2.30-4pm outside properties 31-39 Marriots Gate.
Some exemptions are included which will permit waiting for disabled persons’ vehicles and for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers, loading or unloading of goods, the maintenance of the roads, and works in connection with the supply of gas, electricity, water and telecommunications apparatus. The Order will come into operation on 21st September 2026 and a copy of the Order and a plan showing the lengths of road concerned with a Statement of Reasons can be requested.

You may also be able to view these documents at the offices of South Holland District Council, during normal office hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks after 15th September 2026 make application to the High Court for this purpose.
