What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (THE BROADWAY, BREDBURY) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 27 August 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on 27 August 2026. The effect the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time at Stockport Road West, Bredbury (South Eastern Side) from a point 10m southwest of the intersection of the western kerbline of The Broadway, to a point 10 northeast of the intersection of the eastern kerbline of The Broadway. The Broadway,Bredbury (Both Sides), from the intersection of the southern kerbline of Stockport Road West, for a distance of 28m in a south easterly direction. The Broadway, Bredbury (East Side), from a point 10m north of the intersection of the northern kerbline of Hawthorne Grove to a point 10m south of the southern kerbline of Hawthorn Grove. Hawthorn Grove, Bredbury (Both Sides) from the intersection of the eastern kerbline of The Broadway, for a distance of 10m in an easterly direction. The Broadway, Bredbury (Both Sides) from a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Marina Road, to a point 10m south of the southern kerbline of Marina Road. Marina Road, Bredbury (North Side) from a point 23m northeast of the eastern kerbline of The Broadway, to a point 10m southwest of the western kerbline of The Broadway. Marina Road, Bredbury (South Side) from a point 20m northeast of the eastern kerbline of The Broadway, to a point 10m southwest of the western kerbline of The Broadway. 

A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is notwithin the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
