Southampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Public Danger or Risk of Road Damage
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (BACK OF THE WALLS) (ROAD CLOSURE) (180/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 27th August 2026.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Back of the Walls, from its junction with Market Place southwards for 35m.
2. The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road.
3. The Order will come into force on 31st August 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the Council no longer considers there to be a likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road, whichever is sooner. It is currently expected to remain in effect for 24 weeks.
4. This Order replaces THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (BACK OF THE WALLS) (ROAD CLOSURE) (180/67) TEMPORARY NOTICE. For further information visit one.network/uk/southampton or contact Southampton Highways (Network Management) on 023 8079 8070.
