Coverdale Footpath From A Point Outside Of No.113 Coverdale To The Luton Cycle Way Footpath - Temporary Footpath Closure

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (COVERDALE)
(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 13th October 2026 for a period of 6 months or when the proposed work finishes, whichever is the earlier. Anticipated dates of closures 13th October 2026 to 2nd November 2026. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to pedestrians Coverdale footpath from a point outside of No.113 Coverdale to the Luton Cycle Way Footpath. Diversion route via Coverdale, Ladyhill, Hasketon Drive, Sudbury Road, Hasketon Drive, Needham Road, Butely Road, Luton Cycleway.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period within the date described as above. The purpose of the Order is to enable UKPN to carry out installation of new extra high voltage electricity cables and associated mains electrical works. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for pedestrians will be marked by signs.
