MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU wedi gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984. Mae angen y Gorchymyn er mwyn gwneud gwaith ar gefnffordd yr A470, neu gerllaw iddi, yn y Bontnewydd-ar-Wy, Powys.
Effaith y Gorchymyn yw gwahardd dros dro bob cerbyd rhag mynd ar y darn o gefnffordd yr A470 sy’n ymestyn o ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â ffordd sirol Powys yr C1210 (sy’n arwain at Frynwern) ym mhen deheuol y Bontnewydd-ar-Wy hyd at bwynt 50 o fetrau i’r gogledd o ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â’r B4358 ym mhen gogleddol y Bontnewydd-ar-Wy.

Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiad dros dro yn weithredol dros nos (19:00 – 07:00 o’r gloch) rhwng 14 a 26 Medi 2026, neu hyd nes y caiff yr arwyddion traffig dros dro eu symud ymaith yn barhaol. Dim ond yn ystod y cyfnod a bennir uchod y disgwylir i’r Gorchymyn fod yn weithredol. Er hynny, bydd yn parhau’n ddilys am gyfnod o 18 mis ar y mwyaf rhag ofn y bydd angen ailamserlennu’r gwaith neu wneud gwaith canlyniadol neu waith arall. THE A470 TRUNK ROAD (NEWBRIDGE-ON-WYE, POWYS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A470 trunk road at Newbridge-on-Wye, Powys.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all vehicles from proceeding on the length of the A470 trunk road that extends from the centre-point of its junction with the C1210 Powys county road (leading to Brynwern) at the southern end of Newbridge-on- Wye to a point 50 metres north of the centre-point of its junction with the B4358 at the northern end of Newbridge-on-Wye.
The alternative route for northbound vehicles is via the southbound A470 to Llanelwedd, north-eastbound A483 to the Tremont Road roundabout at the northern end of Llandrindod Wells, Ddole Road Enterprise Park to the Ddole Road Enterprise Park roundabout, westbound A4081 to its junction with the A470 at Dolyfan and southbound A470: vice versa for southbound vehicles.
The Order comes into force on 14 September 2026. The temporary prohibition is expected to operate overnight (19:00 – 07:00 hours) from 14 – 26 September 2026, or until the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
Although the Order is only expected to be in force during the period specified above, it will remain valid for a maximum period of 18 months, as a contingency, should the work need to be rescheduled or consequential or other work is required. Notice of any changes to times and dates will be displayed before any rescheduled work begins.
