What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hamstead Road, Great Barr) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Hamstead Road, Great Barr which will be closed from north of its junction with Valley Road to the dividing line between property numbers 99 and 101 (07/09/2026) (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Newton Road, Walsall Road, Old Walsall Road and vice versa. A HGV diversion route will be signed Newton Road, Walsall Road, Rocky Lane, Old Walsall Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/09/2026 effective from 07/09/2026 (09:30-15:30) Purpose – To facilitate access for repair works by Severn Trent Water. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Station Road, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Station Road, Cradley Heath which will be closed from west of its junction with Meadow Street for approxmately 85 metres towards the roundabout (01/09/2026-22/09/2026) (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Station Road, Beauty Bank, Halesowen Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 18/09/2026 effective from 07/09/2026 (24hrs).
