Winchester Road - Temporary Road Closure due to Carriageway Repairs
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (WINCHESTER ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (090/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Winchester Road from its junction with Anglesea Road to its junction with Medina Road.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for carriageway repairs.
3. The alternative route will be Hill Lane, Four Post Hill, Shirley Road, Shirley High Street and Romsey Road.
4. The Order will come into force on 15th September 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
