What is happening?
NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
RHYDYMWYN - 7.00PM UNTIL 5.00AM
Flintshire County Council has made an Order which will prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the following roads in Rhydymwyn in the County of Flintshire:
1. The A541 between its junctions with Dolfechlas Road and Blackbrook;
2. The B5123, immediately from its junction with the A541 for an approximate distance of 300 metres.
The reason for the closures is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing with associated works by Flintshire County Council; Streetscene and Transportation.
Alternative routes will be signed accordingly by the use of prescribed signs. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period of the works.
The Order comes into force on the 2 September 2026. It is anticipated that the road will only be closed between the hours of 7.00pm until 5.00am for three weeks, or until the earlier completion of the works, subject to a maximum period of eighteen months.

THE FLINTSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(B5123 RHOSESMOR TO BERTH DDU) (RESTRICTED ROAD, 20MPH AND 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on the 25th August 2026, Flintshire County Council made an Order in exercise of its powers under Sections 82, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
a) To impose a Restricted Road (20mph) speed limit on the length of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this notice;
b) To impose a speed limit of 20mph by Order on the length of roads specified in Schedule 2 to this notice;
c) To impose a speed limit of 40mph on the length of roads specified in Schedule 3 to this notice;
d) The Flintshire County Council (B5123 Rhosesmor to Berth Ddu) (Restricted road and 40 mph Speed Limit) (Revocation) Order 2015, is hereby revoked in its entirety.

SCHEDULE 1
Restricted Road
a. Wern Road: from its junction with the B5123 (at Tiger Tim), to a point 165 metres in a north westerly direction.
b. Unnamed road (U191): from its junction with the B5123 (opposite the War Memorial) in a westerly direction, to its junction with the road leading to Gwern y Gear, a distance of 123 metres.
c. Village Road: from its junction with the B5123, for a distance of 57 metres in an easterly direction.
d. Link Road between the B5123 and Village Road for its whole length.
e. B5123 Main Road: from a point 100 metres south of its junction with Wern Road, (at Tiger Tim) to a point 123 metres north of its junction with Village Road.
f. Gwen y Gaer Road (From B5123 to Ty Gwyn): from its junction with the B5123 to a point 385 metres in a westerly direction.
g. Unnamed Road (From B5123 to The Beeches): from its junction with the B5123, to a point 232 metres in an easterly direction.
SCHEDULE 2
20MPH Speed Limit
a. Wern Road: from a point 165 metres in a north westerly direction from its junction with the B5123 (at Tiger Tim), to a point 369 metres in a north westerly direction.
b. Unnamed link road between the B5123 and Wern Road, (opposite the Red Lion PH): for its whole length, a distance of 60 metres.
c. Unnamed link road between the B5123 and Wern Road, for its whole length, a distance of 325 metres.
d. Unnamed Road (From B5123 to The Beeches): from a point 232 metres from its junction with the B5123 in an easterly direction, to a point 265 metres in an easterly direction.
SCHEDULE 3
40MPH Speed Limit
a. B5123: from a point 123 metres north of its junction with Village Road, to a point 123 metres south east of its junction with Shone’s Lane.

Notice is hereby given that on the 25th August 2026, Flintshire County Council made an Order in exercise of its powers under Sections 82 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to amend The Flintshire County Council (Various Roads) (20mph, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph and National Speed Limits. Restricted and Derestricted Roads) Order 2023, so as:-
a) To impose a Restricted Road (20mph) speed limit on the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this notice;
b) To impose a speed limit of 20mph by Order on the length of roads specified in Schedule 2 to this notice;
c) To impose a speed limit of 40mph by Order on the length of roads specified in Schedule 3 to this notice;
The Order revokes The Flintshire County Council (Village Road, School Lane and Wheeler Hill, Nannerch) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2023 and The Flintshire County Council (A541 Nannerch and B5121 Lixwm to Nannerch) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2015, in its entirety and is consolidated into the Flintshire County Council (Various Roads) (20mph, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph and National Speed Limits. Restricted and Derestricted Roads) Order 2023.

From a point 115 metres west from the junction with Village Road for a distance of 190 metres in a westerly direction.
Wheeler Hill, Nannerch, from a point 291 metres south of its junction with the A541 for a distance of 276 metres in a Southerly direction.
Village Road, Nannerch, from a point 25 metres south of its junction with Pen Y Coed for a distance of 156 metres in a Southerly direction.
School Lane, Nannerch, its junction with the Village Road for its entire length.
SCHEDULE 3
40MPH Speed Limit
A541 Nannerch, from a point 190 metres south-east of its junction with the B5121 for a distance of 900 metres in a Northwesterly direction.
