Yarlside Road - Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (YARLSIDE ROAD, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to;
Prohibit the passage of vehicles along that section of Yarlside Road, Barrow-in-Furness, from a point approx. 15 metres south of its junction with Sedgefield Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 60 metres. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Yarlside Road, Roose Road (A5087), Leece Lane and Holebeck Road.
Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of;
Yarlside Road, Barrow-in-Furness (both sides) from its junction with Roose Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 140 metres.
Yarlside Road, Barrow-in-Furness (both sides) from its junction with Holebeck Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 170 metres.
N.B to facilitate the alternative route the one way restrictions on Yarlside Road will be temporarily suspended from its junction with Roose Road (A5087), extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Holebeck Road.

The Order will come into operation on 14th September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
