What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (FOOTWAY BETWEEN LEECE LANE AND ROWAN DRIVE, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, from proceeding along the footway between Leece Lane and Rowan Drive, Barrow in Furness from its junction with Leece Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 115 metres.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians will be signed and available via the footways along Leece Lane, Ashdown Road and Rowan Drive.

The Order will come into operation on 14th September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
