(BINSBY GARDENS, WREKENTON FOOTPATH CLOSURE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on 02 September 2026 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along Binsby Gardens Footpath from a point 20.9 metres northeast of the gable end of property 121 Easedale Gardens in a northeasterly direction for 176 metres. The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement work. The Order will come into force on 07 September 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 25 September 2026. During the works all pedestrians (except operatives associated with the works and emergency service operatives on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above footpath until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
