(A582 LOSTOCK LANE, B5254 WATKIN LANE, A5083 STANIFIELD LANE, LOSTOCK HALL, A582 FARINGTON ROAD, FARINGTON, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN) (TEMPORARY CYCLE LANE CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to turn left at the following junctions;
I. A582 Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall onto the A5083 Stanifield Lane, Lostock Hall.
II. B5254 Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall onto the A582 Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall.
2. To temporarily prohibit any cycle from using the designated cycle lane on the following lengths of highway;
I. A5083 Stanifield Lane, Lostock Hall (southbound carriageway only) from its junction with A582 Farington Road, Farington for a distance of 65 metres in a southerly direction.
II. A582 Farington Road, Farington (southbound carriageway only) from its junction with A582 Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall to its junction with B5254 Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall.
III. B5254 Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall (southbound carriageway only) from its junction with A582 Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall for a distance of 90 metres in a northerly direction.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 14th September 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 2nd October 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will always be maintained.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the prohibitions of left turns is available via using the designated directional lanes on the junction.
5. Cyclists affected by the cycle lane closures will be asked to dismount and use the footway for safety.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow rising main replacement works to be carried out.
