1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 24th of August 2026 the Council of the London Borough of Hackney made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be as follows;
Dalston Lane
a) Introduce 12.7m double yellow lines, no waiting “at any time” restrictions and single kerb blips, no loading restrictions Mon-Sat 7-10am and 4-7pm along the northern kerbline, from a point 5.2m west of the boundary between no 224 and no 226 in western direction.
b) Introduce 12.7m double yellow lines, no waiting “at any time” restrictions and single kerb blips, no loading restrictions Mon-Sat 7-10am and 4-7pm along the southern kerbline, from a point 5.2m west of the boundary between no 224 and no 226 in western direction.
c) Install new raised table from a point 4.2m west of the boundary between no 224 and no 226 for a distance of 39.0m eastwards.
d) Remove 80m of double yellow lines, no waiting “at any time” restrictions and single kerb blips, no loading restrictions Mon-Sat 7-10am and 4-7pm along southern kerbline from a point 6.6m east of the kerbline of Spurstowe Terrace in easterly direction.
e) Remove 23.3m of existing bus clearway at the southern kerbline outside No 234. Install a 25m bus clearway along the southern kerbline from the north western corner of no 234 in a western direction.
f) Introduce double kerb blips and double yellow lines, no loading or no waiting “at any time” restrictions along the southern kerbline from a point 23.1m east kerbline of Spurstowe Terrace for a distance of 39.0m in eastern direction.
Marcon Place
a) Remove prohibition of driving outside number 19 to 24.
Sigdon Road
a) At the junction with Dalston Lane remove 11.0m of double yellow lines and double kerb blips, no waiting or loading “at any time” restrictions along both kerblines.
b) Install a new raised table from its junction with Dalston Lane for a distance of 11.0m northwards.
c) Introduce a prohibition of driving restriction with exemptions for pedal cycles, any vehicle being used for Police, Fire Brigade or Ambulance purposes and LB Hackney refuse vehicles at the junction with Dalston Lane for a distance of 11.0m northwards.
Spurstowe Terrace
a) At the junction with Dalston Lane remove 7.5m of double yellow lines and double kerb blips, no waiting or loading “at any time” restrictions along both kerblines.
b) Install a new raised table from its junction with Dalston Lane for a distance of 7.5m southwards.
c) Introduce a prohibition of driving restriction with exemptions for pedal cycles, any vehicle being used for Police, Fire Brigade or Ambulance purposes and LB Hackney refuse vehicles, at the junction with Dalston Lane for a distance of 7.5m southwards.
Wayland Avenue
a) Mossbourne Parkside Academy (SS15-Expand the ‘Pedestrian and Cycle Zone’ operating Monday-Friday, between 8.30am-9.30am and 3pm – 4pm (during school term times only) currently located on Sigdon Road from its junction with Dalston Lane to Wayland Avenue, to also include Wayland Avenue between its junction with Dalston Lane and the traffic filter North of the junction with Sigdon Road.
Access will be permitted by means of special dispensation for residents/businesses within the affected zone and for Blue Badge holders who register
Access for residents to enter and exit the street will be maintained for vehicles registered for an exemption. Access will also be permitted for Dial-a-ride vehicles
Two way access for cyclists will be permitted at all times through the zone
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 11th of September 2026, other relevant Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made by email request to streetscene.consultations@hackney.gov.uk. Alternatively such documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, in the visitor’s reception area, London Borough of Hackney, Hackney Service Centre, 1 Hillman Street, London, E8 1DY by appointment only
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders are made, may appeal to the High Court.
