Croydon - Multiple Temporary Road & Traffic Restrictions Due To Various Works

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON
CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 - Price Road & Violet Lane, Croydon Notice Of Temporary Restriction Of Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main abandonment and relaying works by SGN they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Price Road and Violet Lane.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Violet Lane will be closed in two phases as detailed below between 31 August and 21 September 2026.
a) Violet Lane between its junctions with Warham Road and Price Road.
b) Violet Lane between its junctions with Price Road and Lennox Gardens, including the closure of Price Road at its junction with Violet Lane.

3. During the closures, one-way working in Violet Lane between Ashley Lane and Hillside Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

4. During the closures, the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.
- Violet Lane/ Price Road, closure – via Hillside Road and Denning Avenue, or Hillside Road and Violet Lane, and reversed.
- Violet Lane closure – via Denning Avenue and Hillside Road, or Price Road and Hillside Road, and reversed.

5. The Order will come into operation on 31 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
(c) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Page Crescent & Layton Crescent, Croydon Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Page Crescent and Layton Crescent, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Page Crescent will be closed at its eastern junction with Denning Avenue, adjacent to No.1 Page Crescent, from 14 to 28 September 2026.
b) Layton Crescent will be closed at its eastern junction with Denning Avenue, adjacent to No. 1 Layton Crescent, from 14 to 28 September 2026.
c) Page Crescent will be closed at its western junction with Denning Avenue, adjacent to No. 20 Page Crescent, from 21 September to 12 October 2026.
d) Layton Crescent will be closed at its western junction with Denning Avenue, adjacent to No. 42 Layton Crescent, from 21 September to 12 October 2026.

3. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below. Access to properties will be maintained.
- Via Page Crescent and Denning Avenue.
- Via Layton Crescent and Denning Avenue.

4. The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Queen Elizabeth’s Drive, New Addington Temporary Restriction Of Vehicular Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate blockage clearance works on behalf of Openreach, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Queen Elizabeth’s Drive.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the road will be closed outside Nos. 140 to 148 Queen Elizabeth’s Drive.

3. The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 16 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

4. During the closure the alternative route for traffic will be via Queen Elizabeth’s Drive, Arnhem Drive and Salcot Crescent and reversed.

5. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order to the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Stanley Gardens, South Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Stanley Gardens will be closed between its junctions with Onslow Gardens and Blagology Lane.

3. During the closure access for residents will be maintained.

4. The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed by 28 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Stoats Nest Road, Coulsdon - Temporary Restriction Of Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a bridge inspection, they intend to make an Order to the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Stoats Nest Road, Coulsdon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Stoat’s Nest Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junction with Windermere Road and the south-western boundary of No. 31 Stoats Nest Road.
b) The footway of Stoats Nest Road will be closed to pedestrians between its junction with Windermere Road and the south-western boundary of No. 31 Stoats Nest Road.

3. During the closure, vehicular traffic will be diverted as detailed below. Marshalls will supervise pedestrian traffic.
- Via Stoats Nest Road, Coulsdon Road, Marlpit Lane, Farthing Way, Brighton Road and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 10 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 11 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle or person involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

6. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate the replacement of branding/signs for the Vue Cinema using a cherry picker, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in Surrey Street.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Surrey Street will be closed between its junction with Church Street and No. 46 Surrey Street.

3. During the closure, the diversion route for traffic will be as detailed below.
- Via Church Street, Old Palace Road, Church Road, Reeves Corner, Roman Way, Old Town, Pump Pail North, Croydon Flyover, A232, Park Lane, Katherine Street, and High Street, Croydon.

4. The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026 at 10:00pm, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed at 6:00am on 15 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.
