What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Bakers Chase, Blackmore End) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bakers Chase, Blackmore End in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bakers Farm Lane to its end a distance of approximately 40m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03168420465 - Anglian Water Business (National)).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National). No alternative route is available. The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Haygreen Road, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Haygreen Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Duncombe Close to its end a distance of approximately 140m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2477FW - Elson Group (Construction) Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while foul and storm connection works are undertaken by Elson Group (Construction) Limited. No aternative route is available. The Order came into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Lifchild Close, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lifchild Close, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Pondholton Drive to its end a distance of approximately 55m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WH2GHW1C - Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach. No alternative route is available. The Order came into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
