(HALL STREET AREA, ST HELENS)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PEDESTRIAN ZONE, ONE-WAY TRAFFIC, DISABLED BAY, LOADING BAY, WAITING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER AND INTRODUCTION OF WAITING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 21st day of August, 2026, the St. Helens Borough Council made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be:
1. The lengths of road and restrictions specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby suspended from Schedule 2 of The Council of the Borough of St Helens (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Provision of Parking) Consolidation Order 2025
2. The lengths of road and restrictions specified in Schedule 2 to this Order are hereby suspended from Schedule 4 of The Council of the Borough of St Helens (George Street Area) (Revocations, Prohibition of Driving, Prohibition of Entry, One-Way Traffic, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Prohibition of Loading, Designated Disabled Parking Bays, Designated Loading Bays and Dedicated Ambulance Bay) Order 2003
3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle except with the permission of a Police Officer in uniform to proceed along that length of road described in Schedule 3 to this Order (“the Schedule”). The alternative route will be described in Column 3 in Schedule 3.
4. By the addition to Schedule 2 of The Council of the Borough of St Helens (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Provision of Parking) Consolidation Order 2025 the items listed in Schedule 4 below.

The Order came into force on Monday 24th August 2026 and shall continue for a maximum duration of 18 months or the earlier completion of the works proposed. The works will be undertaken in phases as and when signs are displayed on site.
The reason for making this Order is to safely enable the town centre improvement works.
