What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 24/08/2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (City Road, Brechin) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that Scottish Water lead renewal works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 01/09/2026, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 12 days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The Order prohibits all vehicular traffic from driving and waiting on City Road, Brechin from its junction with Damacre Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 40m or thereby. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Damacre Road, Southesk Street (A935) and Union Street. The reverse route applies. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles and vehicular access to properties will be maintained. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
