TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along: -
Parkhills Road, Bury – between Market Street & Wellington Road
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works
The alternative route will be via Wellington Road, Market Street & vice versa
The Order comes into operation on 01/09/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 1 week (08:30 – 17:00hrs).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-
Whittaker Street, Radcliffe – Full length
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works
There will be no alternate route as it is a no through route
The proposed Order will come into operation on 14/09/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 4 weeks.
