North Yorkshire: Coast to Coast trail, Cut Road, Glaisdale High Moor - Diversion Order

NOTICE OF CONFIRMING OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
NORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY
PUBLIC BRIDLEWAYS 124 & 97 GLAISDALE
(COAST TO COAST NATIONAL TRAIL – CUT ROAD,
GLAISDALE HIGH MOOR)  DIVERSION ORDER 2026

On 14 August 2026 the North York Moors National Park Authority confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed will divert short sections of the existing bridleways onto an adjacent stone track known as Cut Road, Glaisdale High Moor, as shown on the Order map.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Whitby Library, Windsor Terrace, Whitby, YO21 1EY until 25 September 2026. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased at a reasonable cost by contacting Legal & Democratic Services, North Yorkshire Council, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough, YO11 2HG. The Order came into force on 14 August 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, make an application to the High Court.
