Welsh Newton - Temporary Road Closure Due To Pole Replacement Works

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order : C1247 Tregate Lane From A466, Welsh Newton, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1247 Tregate Lane From A466, Welsh Newton, approximately 825 metres west of the A466 junction. Grid Ref: 349120/217489.

The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A466 onto the C1239 onto the B4521 onto Ruthkin Mill to Skenfrith Rd onto the C1247 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to pole replacement works and the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 24th of September 2026 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 day.
