What is happening?
M25 MOTORWAY – JUNCTION 9 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Surrey, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent incursion into works being undertaken by contractors working on behalf of Surrey County Council.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closures of all slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at Junction 9 (A243).
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing works, and all associated work.
It is expected that the work will last approximately 17 days starting on Tuesday 8th September. The overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 05:00 hours. The Order will come into force on the 6th September 2026 and remain so for a maximum of 18 months, expiring when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the M25, A244, A245, A3, A24, A246, A25, A247, B2430, B2215, B2039, B2122 and C131.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.

A3 TRUNK ROAD – THURSLEY TO LONGMOOR
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A3 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
1) the overnight closure of:-
a) both carriageways, in phases (see below), of the A3 between Thursley Interchange and Longmoor Interchange (A325);
b) all slip roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described in a) above; and
c) all side roads at junction with the lengths of carriageway described in a) above.
2) the 24-hour closure of all the lay-bys adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described in 1)a) above.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier replacements and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will occur in two phases, northbound starting on September 1st 2026 for 3 weeks, and southbound starting on October 9th 2026 for 5 weeks. All overnight closures will occur between 21:00 and 06:00 hours. Details will be available on the National Highways website.
The Order will come into force on 29th August 2026 for a maximum of eighteen
months, ceasing on completion of the works.
Through traffic affected by the closures will be strategically diverted using the A325 and A31 in either direction.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
