ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16

THE M60 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 7 SLIP ROADS)
(GREATER MANCHESTER HALF MARATHON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order in the Borough of Trafford, in the City of Manchester, in the County of Greater Manchester, for the purpose of facilitating the Greater Manchester Half Marathon Road Race.

The Order will ban all traffic from: -
i. the M60 clockwise exit and entry slip roads at Junction 7;

ii. the M60 anticlockwise exit and entry slip roads at Junction 7.

The closures are expected to be in place between 06:30 and 18:00 on Sunday 4 October 2026. However, the closures may continue beyond this expected end time, if necessary.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M60 Motorway and local roads will be well signed.

The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.

The prohibitions will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the road races, or to vehicles being used by the emergency services, or to vehicles being used by traffic officers.

The Order comes into force on 3 October 2026 and will remain in force for as long as is necessary to facilitate the road races. For further information, contact sam.smith@nationalhighways.co.uk
