What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order, Various Roads, Wimborne Minster
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16th September 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a temporary road closure on Barnes Crescent, Wimborne Minster; Churchill Road, Wimborne Minster; Gordon Road, Wimborne Minster; Hardy Crescent, Wimborne Minster and Livingstone Road, Wimborne Minster as indicated by signs on site.
[ii] To impose a clearway (no parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Barnes Crescent, Wimborne Minster; Churchill Road, Wimborne Minster; Gordon Road, Wimborne Minster; Hardy Crescent, Wimborne Minster and Livingstone Road, Wimborne Minster.

Temporary Closure of Back Lane, Sturminster Marshall
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Back Lane, Sturminster Marshall at its northernmost junction with Church Street. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18th September 2026.
This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out trenching works to provide a new supply.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
