(Map Based) (Amendment No. 28) (Clarence Road and Queens Avenue, Dorchester) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

When the Order comes into operation on 2nd September 2026 the effect of the Order will be to:

• Revoke a section of no waiting restrictions along part of Clarence Road, Dorchester

• Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading at any time restrictions along parts of Clarence Road and Queens Avenue, Dorchester

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath Se27/3, Winfrith Newburgh

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath SE27/3 Winfrith Newburgh, from junction with Blacknoll Lane to grid reference SY8082286780, a distance of approximately 780 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1st September 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This closure is required to facilitate Wessex Water to replace a Water main.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Granville Road, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 October 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to facilitate electricity works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary clearway on Granville Road for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping, except those associated with the works.

Temporary Closure of Fairfield Road, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists & equine will be prohibited from proceeding along FAIRFIELD ROAD, DORCHESTER, between its junctions with the car park access and Weymouth Avenue, a distance of approximately 45 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 November 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out drainage & place-making works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable pedestrian, cyclist & equine traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Winters Lane, Waddon

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along WINTERS LANE, WADDON between its junction with Cheese Lane and Waddon House, a distance of approximately 965 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 September 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet to carry out fibre cable installation and splicing.

An alternative route will be signed using; Friar Waddon Lane - B3159 - Nottington Lane - B3157
