NOTICE OF MAKING
City of Coventry (Citywide) (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Designation, Waiting Restrictions, Loading Restrictions, Loading Areas and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2016 – (Variation 15A) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Traffic Regulation Order (‘the Order’) in part which will come into operation on Monday, 31 August 2026:-
The effect of the Order shall be to:-
i) Add, vary or amend waiting restrictions on certain lengths of the following roads:-
Abercorn Road, Alandale Avenue, Amy Close, Barker Butt’s Lane, Barras Lane, Blackburn Road, Broad Lane, Broadmere Rise, Browning Road, Bulwer Road, Cecily Road, Cedars Avenue, Clipstone Road, Cossington Road, Dallington Road, Dean Street, Deighton Grove, Dennis Road, Devon Grove, Doyle Drive, Dunsmore Avenue, Eden Street, Edgefield Road, Edyth Road, Ena Road, Hamilton Road, Harper Road, Headborough Road, Hocking Road, Hove Avenue, Lythalls Lane, Max Road, Medina Road, Mile Lane, Newland Road, Norfolk Street, Northumberland Road, Old Farm Lane, Pinners Croft, Rollason Road, Rowington Close, Stonebury Avenue, Stonefield Close, Stretton Avenue, Torcastle Close, Villa Road, Warner Row, Watersmeet Road, Waveley Road, Whitnash Grove, Wildmoor Close, Wilsons Road, Woodridge Avenue, Woodside Avenue North, Wordsworth Road, Wyken Way
ii) Extend the existing Residents’ Only Permit Parking Schemes:
CHEYLESMORE EAST (Zone CE) – Mile Lane is to be added to the CE Zone. Properties 10 to 50 (even numbers only) & 15 to 71 (odd numbers only) Mile Lane, will be eligible to apply for Zone CE Parking Permits.
ELIZABETH WAY (Zone EL) – Properties 142A & 142B Woodway Lane only will be eligible to apply for Zone EL Parking Permits
PARADISE 1 (Zone EW1) – Properties 695 to 701B (odd numbers only) Stoney Stanton Road will be eligible to apply for Zone EW1 Parking Permits.
iii) The following that formed part of the original proposals (advertised on 21st May 2026), have been deferred and will not be included in the Order:
a) The introduction of a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restriction at the junction of Chace Avenue and Dunsmore Avenue
b) The introduction of a ‘Resident Only Permit Parking Scheme’ in Kensington Road
When originally advertised on 21 May 2026 the title of the Order was ‘City of Coventry (Citywide) (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Designation, Waiting Restrictions, Loading Restrictions, Loading Areas and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2016 – (Variation 15) Order 2025’ and it has since been changed to that above.
A copy of this Notice, the Order, Map Tiles and Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be inspected on the Council’s website at ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’ and at Council House Reception, Earl Street, Coventry CV1 5RR during normal office hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from today, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
GEORGE ELIOT ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along George Eliot Road from its junction with Foleshill Road for approximately 30 metres.
The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 and is required to enable new gas connection and services and associated works on George Eliot Road to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 15 September 2026.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) reasonable local vehicular access to George Eliot Road.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS BINLEY ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make
a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be
to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding along Binley Road commencing
at its junction with Bulls Head Lane and continuing
to its junction with Biggin Hall Cresent.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on
Monday 7th September 2026 and is required to enable
Severn Trent Water to renew a frame and cover works
to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works
would be completed by Tuesday 8th September 2026.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority
vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the
time of an emergency for that vehicle to have
access to part of a street under restriction imposed
by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the
execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Binley Road.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction
imposed by the Order may be removed under the
provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles
Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
GREYFRIARS LANE, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make
a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be
to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding along Greyfriars Lane to such
extent as set out in the Schedule below.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours
on Tuesday 8th September 2026 and is required to
enable Severn Trent Water to safely repair a leaking
water pipe.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would
be completed by Thursday 10th September 2026.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority
vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the
time of an emergency for that vehicle to have
access to part of a street under restriction imposed
by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the
execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction
imposed by the Order may be removed under the
provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles
Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
ALLESLEY OLD ROAD SIDE ROADS, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along the roads set out in the Schedule below.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and is required to enable Cadent Gas to safely renew gas mains.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Sunday 28th September 2026.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to the named roads.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS BRITANNIA STREET, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Britannia Street commencing at its junction with Paynes Lane and continuing to its junction with Grantham Street.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Saturday 5th September 2026 and is required to allow for excavation works for 2 HV electric ducts to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 16th September 2026.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Britannia Street.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
