What is happening?

ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL  

A97 – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

“The Aberdeenshire Council (A97 Glendeskry, Strathdon – 24.08.26) (Temporary Closure to Vehicular traffic) Order, 2026” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984. The order will operate from 24.08.26 for 12 days and will prohibit any person from driving on the on the A97 Glendeskry, Strathdon at Boultenstone Bridge.

Access will be provided for emergency and vehicles requiring access to properties but may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

The temporary restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety to allow for urgent bridge repairs. An alternative route is available via the A97 – A93 – B972 – A93 – A939 – A944 – A97 and vice versa.
