(A414 Greenbury Way, Writtle (Temporary Clearway) (Special Event) (Drone Show) Order 2026
To introduce: Temporary ‘No Stopping at Any Time’ Restrictions from 10:00am to 09:30pm on 04 September 2026 on A414 Greenbury Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with St Marys Church roundabout to its junction with Margaretting Road roundabout – both directions.
The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Waiting Restriction) (Consolidation) Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the said lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
(A414 Greenbury Way, Writtle (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Prohibition of Right-Hand Turn) (Special Event) (Drone Show) Order 2026
To introduce: A temporary closure on the following length of road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, A414 Greenbury Road, Writtle in both directions from its junction with St Marys Church roundabout and its junction with Margaretting Road roundabout. Between the times of 07:00pm and 09:30pm. Access permitted for event traffic only.
Diversion Via: A1016, Rainsford Road, Roxwell Road, Lordship Road, Ongar Road, Bulimers Way, Greenbury Way and vice versa.
To introduce: A temporary Prohibition of Right-Hand Turn from the A414 Greenbury Way into the Access to Hylands Park between the hours of 2:00pm to 6:30pm.
(A414 Greenbury Way, Writtle) (Temporary 40MPH Speed Limit) (Special Event) (Drone Show) Order 2026
To introduce: A temporary 40MPH speed restriction on A414 Greenbury Road, Writtle, from its junction with St Marys Church roundabout to its junction with Margaretting Road roundabout. This road is national speed limit.
To Temporary suspend the 7.5t environment Order ‘Borough Council of Chelmsford (Bulimers Way, Lordship Road and Ongar Rod, Writtle) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order, 1995 on the said lengths of road only. All over restriction and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The restrictions are needed for the duration of the Drone Show held at Hylands Park in order to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
The Orders will come into operation on the 04 September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the event has been concluded.
(Margaretting Road, Writtle) (Whirly Bird Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce prohibition of traffic Margaretting Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford from its junction with A414 Greenbury Way south to its junction with Nathans Lane. Margaretting Road will be Access Only, for event ingress and egress traffic.
Access will be maintained for residents, emergency services and businesses as required.
Diversion route: Greenbury Way A414, London Road A414, Three Mile Hill A414, Wantz Road B1002, Writtle Road, Margaretting Road and vice versa
The restriction is scheduled to commence on 06 September 2026 between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
This is required for the safety of the public while Whirly Birds Family Fun Day takes place.
The Orders will come into effect on 06 September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the Event has finished.
(Baddow Road, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Baddow Road, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Spooner Close for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2026 – (21:00-05:00) for 1 night, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WGGFMN3S – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via B1009, A1114, B1007, B1009 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Downham Road, West Hanningfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Downham Road, West Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Stock Road to its junction with Lower Stock Road a distance of approximately 610m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2402753 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council .
An alternative route is available via Downham Road, Hawkswood Road, South Hanningfield Road, Middlemead, Church Road, Holliday Hill, Ship Road, B1007 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Margaretting Road, Writtle) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Margaretting Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 1335m south west, south east then south west of its junction with Margaretting Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT0042538429032026 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Church Road, East Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 10m north east of its junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 165m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311002WH1WMN8Y – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

(Swiss Avenue & Park Avenue, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Swiss Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Kings Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a south easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Park Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Swiss Avenue for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st September 2026 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001520489 & AZ5011001520513 – Cadent Gas).

(Rainsford Lane & Andrews Place, Chelmsford) (Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction on that length of Rainsford Lane, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Andrews Place to its other junction with Andrews Place.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction on that length of Andrews Place, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Rainsford Lane for a distance of approximately 200m in a north westerly then south westerly direction.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sporhams Lane, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 50m south west of its junction with Woodhill Common Road for a distance of approximately 140m in a south westerly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st September 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WGNP5T0N – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (South Hanningfield Road, South Hanningfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of South Hanningfield Road, South Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 320m north east of its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 290m in a north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02279047316 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by GTM.
An alternative route is available via South Hanningfield Road, Main Road, Southend Road, West Hanningfield Road, Church Road, Middlemead, South Hanningfield Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Vange Bypass, Vange (including onslips) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Vange Bypass, Vange in the Borough of Basildon, from the junction with Five Bells Slip Road to Southend Road to the junction with the off slips at Pitsea Flyover a distance of approximately 2795m (both directions).
2. To temporarily close that length of the Five Bells Slip Road to Southend Road, (eastbound) to the point where it joins the A13, a distance of approximately 36m.
3. To temporarily close that length of Pitsea bypass on-slip from Broadway Link Roundabout to A13 (Westbound) a distance of approximately 220m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 25th September 2026 for 1 night (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2012410068 – Essex County Council).

The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (Main Road, Broomfield/Broomfield Road, Chelmsford) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (No.11) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Main Road, Broomfield/Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, from the junction with Valley Bridge to the junction with Hospital Approach as detailed in the “The Borough Council of Chelmsford (Little Waltham, Broomfield and Chelmsford) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 1997” for the duration of the closures only.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd September 2026, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
