To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Pottery Close – for its full extent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 7 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 11 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. Sandhurst Lane/Whydown Road – from the junction with U6207 Coneyburrow Lane to the junction with C703 Peartree Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6208 Sandhurst Lane – A259(T) Barnhorn Road – A259 Little Common roundabout – C703 Peartree Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 10 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Crowhurst Road/Catsfield Road – from the junction with C345 Watermill Lane to the junction with C307 Ballards Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C345 Watermill Lane – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – A2690 Combe Valley Way – B2092 Queensway – C93 Crowhurst Road, Sandrock Hill, Crowhurst Road – C307 Ballards Hill and vice versa.

Hammer Hill – from the junction with A271 Kitchenham Road to the junction with C18 Church Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Church Road, Ponts Green, Herrings Road – C277 Bluekiln Road, Redpale, North Road – C16 White Horse Road, The Causeway, Victoria Road – A271 Windmill Hill Road, The Strait, Boreham Hill, Kitchenham Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:
Temporary Road Closure
Magdalen Road – from the junction with A21 Bohemia Road to the junction with U3160 St Margarets Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3160 St Margarets Road, White Rock Road – A21 Bohemia Road and vice versa. The Order commences 21 August 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 10 July 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 31 July 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 21 August and 21 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Cornwallis Terrace/Devonshire Road – from the junction with U3181 Priory Street to the junction with U3169 South Terrace.
Station Road – from the junction with U3182 Devonshire Road for 20 metres.
Diversion via U3181 Priory Street – A21 Cambridge Road, Bohemia Road, London Road, Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road – U3169 South Terrace.
Havelock Road – from the junction with U3182 Devonshire Road to the junction with A21 Harold Place.
Diversion via U3181 Priory Street – A21 Cambridge Road, Bohemia Road, London Road, Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road, Albert Road – A259 Denmark Place – A21 Harold Place.
Middle Street – for its full extent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic set out above.
