The County of Dorset Traffic Management Scheme
(Various Roads, Shaftesbury) (No.3) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the abovementioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

When the Order comes into operation on 4th September 2026 the effect of the Order will be to introduce the following restrictions:

• Prohibit any vehicle (except local buses and pedal cycles) to enter or proceed on a section along Mampitts Road, Shaftesbury

• Prohibit any vehicle to turn left (except local buses and pedal cycles) from Pound Lane onto Mampitts Road, Shaftesbury

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Temporary Closure of Sandford Orcas Road, Sandford Orcas

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Spring Lane, Sandford Orcas from junction with Moorway Lane to junction with Clatcombe Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 940 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27th October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Closure of A3030, Bishops Caundle

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A3030, Bishops Caundle at Woodbridge Higher (in both directions), a distance of approximately 100 metres either side of the bridge. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16th October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to undertake essential investigative and structural survey works on the bridge.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Park Grove, Stalbridge

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21st September 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Park Grove, Stalbridge from junction with Grove Lane to junction with Barrow Hill (in both directions), a distance of approximately 540 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Park Grove, Stalbridge from junction with Grove Lane to junction with Barrow Hill (in both directions), a distance of approximately 540 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Unnamed Road, Parish of Beer Hackett

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 20 October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on UNNAMED ROAD, BEER HACKETT, between its junction with C11 and a point approximately 3660 metres east.

[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along UNNAMED ROAD, BEER HACKETT, between its junction with C11 and a point approximately 3660 metres east.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along UNNAMED ROAD, BEER HACKETT, between its junction with C11 and a point approximately 3660 metres east.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Weston Road, Kington Magna

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Weston Road, Kington Magna between Common Lane and Old Rectory Farm, a distance of approximately 100 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18th September 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water Services to carry out sewer repair works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
