TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDLEWAY BUNTINGFORD 013

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, and cyclists from using that length of Bridleway Buntingford 013, between Hare Street Road and The Causeway, for an approximate distance of 400m. 

Alternative Route: pedestrians on Buntingford 008 and 034, no suitable alternative for cyclists and equestrians on PROW network The purpose of the Order is to enable development works to take place.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDLEWAY THUNDRIDGE 048

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, and cyclists from using that length of Bridleway Thundridge 048, 100 metres from junction with North Drive, for an approximate distance of 17m.

Alternative route: no suitable alternative on PRoW network

The purpose of the Order is to enable utility works to take place.

The section of Bridleway will be closed on or after 01 September 2026 for up to 1 day, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B176 CROSSBROOK STREET, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B176 Crossbrook Street, Cheshunt from its junction with Theobalds Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B176 (Crossbrook Street/Turners Hill), B198 College Road, A10 Great Cambridge Road, A121 Winston Churchill Way and B176 (High Street/Crossbrook Street).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DARK LANE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Dark Lane, Cheshunt from a point 110m south west of its junction with B156 Goffs Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 145m (“the Road”). 

An alternative route will be via Dark Lane, B156 Goffs Lane, Churchgate, Cromwell Avenue and Dark Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. 

The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Park Road, Ware from its junction with Roman Court north westwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Park Road, B1001 Watton Road, Fanshawe Crescent and Park Road.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TOWER ROAD, WARE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Tower Road, Ware from a point 158m north east of its junction with Homefield Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 35m (“the Road”). 

An alternative route will be via Tower Road, Fanhams Road, Queens Road, Cromwell Road, Parnel Road and Tower Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 15 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN GOFFS OAK AND WARE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:- 

1. that length of Pollards Close, Goffs Oak from its junction with Goffs Crescent south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of B1001 Westmill Road, Ware from its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/A10 (unnamed road) roundabout south eastwards to its junction with B1001 Watton Road, a distance of approximately 425m. 

An alternative route will be via A10 (unnamed road/Amwell Link Road), A1170 (Pepper Hill/Amwell Hill/London Road/Viaduct Road/ High Street/Baldock Street) and B1001 (Watton Road/Westmill Road).

3. that length of Goffs Crescent, Goffs Oak from its junction with Jones Road south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of High Oak Road, Ware from its junction with Fanhams Hall Road south westwards to its junction with Collett Road, a distance of approximately 700m.

An alternative route will be via Musley Hill, New Road, A1170 (High Street/Baldock Street), The Bourne and Collett Road. 

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 16 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B181 STATION ROAD,
STANSTEAD ABBOTTS) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B181 Station Road, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with Lawrence Avenue south westwards to its junction with Amwell Lane, a distance of approximately 120m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B181 (Station Road/High Street/ Roydon Road), A414 Eastwick Road and B181 Station Road.

The Order is needed because safety compliance for level crossing works is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 15 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. 

The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HERTFORD, BRAUGHING AND LITTLE HADHAM) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:- 

1. that length of A414 Rush Green Link, Hertford from its junction with A1197 London Road north eastwards to its junction with B1502 Stanstead Road, a distance of approximately 1343m.

An alternative route will be via A414 London Road, A119 (Ware Road/ Hertford Road/London Road), A1170 (London Road/Amwell Hill/ Pepper Hill) and A10 (Amwell Link Road/unnamed road). 

2. that length of A602 Tonwell Bypass, Hertford from its junction with The Anchor Lane roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 2188m.

An alternative route will be via A602 Westmill Road, A10 (unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass/Puckeridge Bypass/unnamed road/ Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road/Ermine Street/London Road/ Market Hill/Priory Lane/Melbourn Road), A505 (Royston Bypass/ Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B197 (Jacks Hill/High Street/Graveley Road), A602 Hitchin Road, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road and A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/ Ware Road/Tonwell Bypass)

or via A602 (Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass/ Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road/Baldock Road/Royston Bypass), A10 (Melbourn Road/Priory Lane/Barkway Street/London Road/ Ermine Street/unnamed road/Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road/ Puckeridge Bypass/Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road) and A602 Westmill Road. 

3. that length of Gravelly Lane/The Street, Braughing from its junction with B1368 Green End south eastwards, north eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Vicarage Lane, a distance of approximately 600m. 

An alternative route will be via B1368 Green End, Ford Street and The Street.

4. that length of Church End, Little Hadham from its junction with Stortford Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 201m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the lengths of Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 14 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PELHAM ROAD, BRAUGHING) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pelham Road, Braughing from a point 490m south west of its junction with Albury Public Footpath No.031 south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Pelham Road, Braughing Road, Patient End, C35 (unnamed road), C15 (unnamed road), Gravesend, Clapgate, Albury Road, Standon Road, A120 (Standon Road/Stortford Road/ Kents Lane), Station Road, High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 (Wickham Hill/Station Road), Fore Street, The Street and Pelham Road. 

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. 

The Order will come into effect from 2 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Lane, Watton At Stone from its junction with Whempstead Lane south westwards to its junction with A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, a distance of approximately 1117m (“the Road”). 

An alternative route will be via Mill Lane, Whempstead Road, A602 (Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass) and Mill Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 31 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. 

The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) :-

1. that length of Park Road, Ware from its junction with Trapstyle Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 246m. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Trapstyle Road, Ware from its junction with The Brickfields south eastwards to its junction with Ware Town Public Footpath No.017, a distance of approximately 55m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 30 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 37 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(SPEED LIMIT AMENDMENTS) ORDER 2026

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, COUNTY OF HERTFORSHIRE) (REVOCATIONS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to amend various existing Orders in the County of Hertfordshire as specified in Schedule 1 and revoke Orders listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice. The Orders will come into effect on Monday 31 August 2026.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders may be viewed from 27 August 2026 to 8 October 2026 during office hours at Main Reception, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Broxbourne and East Herts and looking at Ref: J00126.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (B176 TURNERS HILL, CHESHUNT)
(BUS LANE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council to maintain road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the aforementioned Order to fix administrative issues found regarding the current existing restrictions for the bus lane on B176 Turners Hill, Cheshunt as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
