A2022 Bolters Lane, Winkworth Road, And Croydon Lane, Banstead - Proposed Reduction Of The Existing 40mph To A 30mph Speed Limit

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Proposed reduction of the existing 40mph to a 30mph speed limit in A2022 Bolters Lane, Winkworth Road, and Croydon Lane, Banstead and proposed reduction of the existing 30mph to a 20mph speed limit in (D1070) Longcroft Avenue and Fiddicroft Avenue, Banstead

Surrey County Council propose to make the following Orders under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers:

1. “The Surrey County Council (A2022 Bolters Lane, Winkworth Road and Croydon Lane, Banstead) (Amendment and Revocation of 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202-” the effect of which will be to revoke the existing 40mph speed limits imposed by
(a) “The London Traffic (40 M.P.H Speed Limit) (No.18) Order 1965” on that length of Bolters Lane and Winkworth Road (A2022) (formerly B280), Banstead (but excluding the service roads flanking Winkworth Road) which extends from its junction with Brighton Road (A217) to a point 100 yards east of its junction with Salisbury Road, a distance of approximately 1029 yards; and
(b) “The London Traffic (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (No.15) Order 1964” on that length of Croydon Lane (A2022) (formerly B280) as extends from its junction with (D1070) Longcroft Avenue to the Surrey County Council boundary with The London Borough of Sutton.

NOTE – upon the revocation of the 40 mph speed limit, the lengths of road referred to in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) above will become subject to a 30mph maximum speed limit by virtue of the street lighting system currently provided on those lengths of road.

2. “The Surrey County Council (D1070 Longcroft Avenue and Fiddicroft Avenue) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 202-” the effect of which will be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20mph in the lengths of road specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.

The 20mph speed limit and the 30mph speed limit proposed by these Orders shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

A copy of the proposed Orders, a plan showing the lengths of roads to which the Orders relate, a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Orders and a Statement of the Council’s guidelines on the acceptance of objections to Traffic Regulation Orders may be viewed on-line at https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/ roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-andtransport- consultations. If you are unable to access the webpage, a copy can be obtained by contacting the Traffic Regulation Orders Team at the address below.
