LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MAIN ROAD (A6), GALGATE, LANCASTER CITY) (REVOCATION AND 50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 13th August 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (A6 Lancaster, Preston and Wyre) (Revocation, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 2024" insofar as it relates to Item a) of Schedule 3.
2. Introduce a 50mph speed limit on Main Road (A6), Galgate, from a point 150 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Green Lane, Ellel, to a point 292 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Tanhouse, Galgate.

This Order will come into force on the 31st August 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PJ, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
