Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Date of Order: 1 September 2026
Order in force: 6 September 2026
This order is being introduced in the interest of public safety for the above event to be held on 6 September 2026 from Banbury town centre and is organised by Daniel Jones, Raceways Events CIC, Rose Cottage Care Farm, Stratford Road, Hockley Heath, B94 5NH dan@raceways.org.uk. The Council is satisfied this event may take place on public roads. It is anticipated approx. 800 participants will be involved with many spectators.
The effect of the order is to temporarily close roads and to implement No Waiting/No Loading/No Unloading on Sunday 6 September with the start/finish in People’s Park. The following roads will be closed at times stated:
From 09:45 to 13:00:
Bath Road: Entire Length
Broughton Road: From Bath Road to Banbury Road
Banbury Road: From Broughton Road to Sandfine Road
Sandfine Road: From Banbury Road to Main Road
Main Road: From Sandfine Road to Broughton Road Broughton Road: From Main Road to Bath Road
Woodgreen Avenue/Queensway: B4035 roundabout closed
Timings are subject to opening once the final runner goes past. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for controlled property access, and for support vehicles necessary for assisting the event. Marshals will also assist with safety and road control as required.
The alternative route(s) for traffic will be signed locally.
